My campaign is off to a fantastic start thanks to all of you! There were many familiar and friendly faces who joined me for my formal announcement in Reno and it was great to know that I can count on your support. I continue to hear from many of you who share my frustration with politics as usual in Washington and have a desire to see change.

I recently returned from a trip across much of CD2, meeting up with old friends and making new ones. I met with folks in Lovelock, Winnemucca and Ely to hear what's on their minds. I had a meeting with ranchers in Elko and was pleased to see so many at a campaign dinner we hosted there as well. It was devastating to see the destruction wrought by the earthquake in Wells, but the friendly folks there remind us all how tough and resilient Nevadans can be.

The response I'm getting from people across the district is incredible. Democrats, Republicans, Independents all say that they agree with me that Dean Heller is out of touch with Nevada voters and the values we all hold dear. I agree with you that neither party has the monopoly on good ideas and I pledge that when I get to Congress I'll work across party lines to do what's best for our state and its people.
